Five interlocking tales of terror follow the fates of a group of weary travellers who confront their worst nightmares – and darkest secrets – over one long night on a desolate stretch of desert highway. – Source
I love horror anthologies. Give me a movie with 4 to 5 different segments of horrific action and I am usually a happy camper. Granted, the last few horror movie anthologies have left me a bit disappointed (VHS: VIRAL, A CHRISTMAS HORROR STORY, TALES OF HALLOWEEN) but that isn’t keeping me from getting excited for the upcoming horror film, SOUTHBOUND.
The trailer looks really good and the segments look to be very well done with a nice amount of creepiness to them. It also doesn’t hurt that early reviews are so effusive:
“Twilight Zone for the indie horror generation.“
“Reminded me of Creepshow in its twisted sense of humor and unpredictability”
“This anthology of five horror tales is the rare group effort without a dud“
So me being the eternal optimist I will be eagerly watching this once I have the opportunity and hoping that it is just as good as the trailer (and reviewers!) makes it seem.
SOUTHBOUND will be released on February 9.
