All Of Time And Space…Follow Her

ladywho0

This snazzy piece of fan art by artist Rafael Magat is probably as close as we are going to get to a seeing a female Doctor for the foreseeable future especially as long as Stephen Moffat is running the show) so I figured I share. It is also a very nice piece of art work by Mr. Magat plus she’s a ginger!
Check it out after the cut.

Rule 63 Cosplay of the Week: Kick-Ass

kickass2
This week’s Rule 63 is a pretty timely one with the release of the KICK-ASS sequel this past week. This week’s entrant is cosplaying as the roughed up Kick-Ass that I tend to like more than any other depiction of the character.

Russell Simmons Has No Idea What Funny Is

russ
Russell Simmons, the hip-hop impresario and the man behind the 1990s stand-up comedy show DEF COMEDY JAM, recently launched an online comedy channel called ALL DEF DIGITAL and the initial offering was a comedy skit about Harriet Tubman creating a sex tape to blackmail her slave master.
Does that sound like it has a shot of even being mildly funny to you? No? Well Russ would beg to differ as he tweeted this effusive praise:
rush-1
Now I was willing to give this skit a chance because I am all about edgy, politically incorrect comedy and Simmons big upped it so much, so I sought it out expecting to have my side split wide open from laughing so much. Alas what I watched was not the “funniest thing I had ever seen”…it wasn’t even the funniest thing I had seen all day.

Michael Straczynski that takes a bleak look at the profession of superhero sidekick.

Bronies Are Party Animals

Bronies02
If you are not familiar with the Brony phenomenon then you really need to do some research. Long story short…Bronies are the newfangled fandom (made up of an inordinate number of dudes) of the revived My Little Pony cartoon franchise. They have conventions and do cosplay and are just as rabid about My Little Pony as the most diehard Trekker is about Star Trek.
And if you follow the jump, you will see that they also party hard as a mofo.

Cover Me Monday: Never Give You Up

covermemon
It has been a while since I have done one of these but the cover of this song inspired me to pull the old Cover Me Monday out of the mothballs. And don’t be alarmed this isn’t the Rick Astley song (that catchy bit of pop trifle is actually “Never Gonna Give You Up“) and you are not being Rickrolled either. Scout’s honor.
