UNDER THE DOME
Stupidity must be in the water of Chester Mills because that is the only way to explain why everyone in this town is so tragically stupid. I get that these poor townsfolk are trapped under a mysterious dome, that can make you act out of character but should it really make you behave like your brain cells are outside of the dome too? No one on this show makes good decisions and the rampant idiocy is very hard to watch.
The other problem is that the writing for the show is just as stupid as the characters. The Stephen King book this show is based on is one of my favorites of the author’s works yet somehow this adaptation has found a way to make me question my own judgment on that front. Maybe King’s book was horrible and I just remember it wrong/ Nah, this show is ridiculous. King’s book didn’t have the townsfolk go completely batshit crazy to the point that they were forming lynch mobs and building gallows in the town square after being under the dome for barely a week. Civilization does not crumble into mob rule in less than a week, I don’t care what the circumstances are. And people don’t throw together underground fight clubs in the span of a few days either like this show thought was a good idea to do in its first season.
Plus the guy who plays Junior is the absolute worst.
