Why Is It Doomed?
Did you watch the video? I initially had it as a toss-up between SELFIE and MANHATTAN LOVE STORY as to which one would get cancelled first but I have actually seen the pilot for SELFIE and while it is not particularly good it was nowhere near as bad as I had expected. There is potential there plus it benefits from having two engaging leads in Karen Gillan and John Cho. MANHATTAN LOVE STORY on the other hand is rancid and I say that just from the trailer because there is no way that anything entertaining could be mined from that dung heap. You have a totally forgettable leading lady, a massive asshole leading man with a face that was tailor made for punching and a too cute by half gimmick that got old for me by about the time that it was decided all women think about is purses. I defy this show to be anything more than a totally unwatchable pile of crap. Throw in that it has the bad luck of going up against NCIS and THE VOICE…well it never had a chance.
