Last month the TV networks debuted their new offerings for the fall season and while some shows look very promising like The Flash, Constantine, Grace Point (the US adaptation of Broadchurch) and The Whispers; other shows look downright abysmal. So with that in mind I have picked the worst of the bunch as a public service to help innocent TV viewers avoid the awful.
Mulaney (FOX)
From Emmy Award-winning writer and comedian John Mulaney (“Saturday Night Live”) comes MULANEY, a multi-camera ensemble comedy series about a rising stand-up comic trying to take his career to the next level and the friends and mentors who lift him up, hold him back and push him around.
Holy crap! I forgot how much a recorded laugh track cuts into my soul like a hot knife through butter until I watched this trailer. Nothing that was shown was funny enough for the vociferous and robotic laughter that followed every hamfisted punchline. And while John Mulaney may be an awesome comedy writer the guy is not a very magnetic onscreen performer. He looks more like someone who should be hosting a morning show on FOX News. Also the fact that this show looks and feels like a poor man’s version of SEINFELD (complete with it’s own version of Newman who looks like the love child of Zach Galifianakis and Where’s Waldo?) does it no favors. Too bad that Elliott Gould and Martin Short are involved with this because it just looks dreadful.
God everything about these sound terrible. I think I’ll just stick with Vikings and Game of Thrones.

I am shocked that some of these even made it to the schedule especially that Mulaney show.
