6. Annie Brackett (Danielle Harris) – HALLOWEEN II (2009)

Annie was the best friend of Laurie Strode in the Rob Zombie directed HALLOWEEN remakes. In the first film, Annie was a good-natured party girl who was sliced up pretty badly by Michael Myers but survived. In the sequel, Annie was a near recluse due to the trauma she suffered from Michael’s attack in the first film. She was such a pitiful creature that you didn’t want anyone to raise their voice to tell her dinner was ready let alone see her get absolutely brutalized by a deranged Wookie. Annie was the most fully formed character in the entire film (helped greatly by Danielle Harris’ performance) so of course a schlockmeister like Zombie was going to make sure that she had the worst death imaginable. Mercifully, it was a quick death but it was still the most gut-wrenching scene in the entire rebooted franchise because of how much the audience comes to feel for Annie.
