In the futuristic action thriller Looper, time travel will be invented – but it will be illegal and only available on the black market. When the mob wants to get rid of someone, they will send their target 30 years into the past, where a “looper” – a hired gun, like Joe (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) – is waiting to mop up. Joe is getting rich and life is good… until the day the mob decides to “close the loop,” sending back Joe’s future self (Bruce Willis) for assassination. – Rotten Tomatoes

The Best Rappers Turned Actors

Rah Digga in Thir13en Ghosts
Rah Digga not being nominated for something for her amazing portrayal in the classic (but unfortunately named) THIR13EN GHOSTS is a true injustice

Of all the professions to churn out pretty decent actors it has always shocked me that the rap game has been so prolific. From the highs of Oscar nominees to the lows of starring as Steven Seagal’s sidekick, rappers have made huge inroads into the movie/TV biz so it is with that in mind I give you my list of the best rappers turned actors.

Shuffling On My iPod: Three Artists, One Song

Converse (yep the sneaker company) has this little project they are doing called “Three Artists, One Song” that does just what the title says: takes three artists and throws them together on one brand new song. The company already has done this with “Do Ya Thing” featuring Damon Albarn of Gorillaz, LCD Soundsystem’s James Murphy  and OutKast’s Andre 3000. The second song from the project features Foster the People frontman Mark Foster, Kimbra, and Canadian turntable impresario A-Trak.  It is quite the tits in my humble opinion. Mark Foster, A-Trak and Kimbra – Warrior Continue reading Shuffling On My iPod: Three Artists, One Song

Game of Thrones Scene of the Week: The Eunuch vs The Imp

Tyrion vs Varys
I love when characters I really like have an extended scene together and since Tyrion is my absolute favorite GoT character and Varys is in my top 5, I was ecstatic watching their civil yet veiled sparring session. When Tyrion walked into his room and saw Varys sitting there having a pleasant chat with Shae you could just see the rage boiling up in him. He realizes that Varys traffics in information and now the eunuch had info on him that could (and most likely will) be used as a weapon against him sometime in the future. And the way the scene ended with Tyrion making sure Varys knew that he was not dealing with someone like Ned Stark who was totally out of his element in the cutthroat, shark infested waters of the Small Council and Varys reminding Tyrion that no matter what upheaval occurs within the kingdom The Spider always survives. Great scene and I can’t wait to see them go at it again.
