12 Worst Performances By Pro Athletes Turned Actors

The guys in this list only wish they were cool enough to wear Raquel Welch as a cape

Like all singers want to be rappers and all rappers want to be singers…all professional athletes want to be actors. And for the most part they are all really bad at it. Miles and miles of celluloid has been wasted on the stiff, monotone performances of guys who were the top in their respective sports but were not worthy of polite applause in front of the camera. So press on and see who made my list that is in no specific order just because I found it too difficult a task to do.

The Greatest Sitcom Singing Groups Of All Time

Brady Bunch Variety Hour
The Brady Family + Bootleg Jan Invites You Into This Post

There comes a time in almost every standard sitcom’s life when the cast just has to sing. It could be as part of a talent competition, to raise funds for some worthwhile cause, it could be a dream sequence or it could just be a last desperate attempt by the show runners to garner interest in a show that is dead in the water. Whatever the case may be singing as a time honored tradition in American sitcoms and I decided to formulate a list of the seven (yeah seven, I like to be different wanna make something of it?) greatest sitcom singing groups ever assembled!

Let’s Take A Moment To Appreciate The Greatness Of Keith David

Keith David is one of those actors that most people will recognize immediately onscreen (especially after he speaks) but not necessarily know who he is. He has been in everything from cult classic movies to TV shows to cartoons and on the odd chance that people do recall his name they usually get it wrong and call him David Keith (not the same person, folks!).

Cast A Star Wars Reboot Using Bad Robot TV Show Alums

BadRobotStarWars1
From the moment I first read about JJ Abrams snagging the director’s gig for the STAR WARS franchise, I immediately started thinking about what a Abrams style reboot of George Lucas’ universe would be like. Then I started thinking about who would get cast for the iconic roles. And then I started thinking that everyone with a blog on the Internet was probably thinking the same thing. So I started thinking about what a rebooted STAR WARS cast would look like if all of the characters were being portrayed by veterans of Abrams’ Bad Robot produced TV series.
And that is how we got to this point in the space time continuum, folks.

The 5 Worst Things To Happen To Pop Culture In 2012

KIMYE
The union of two of the biggest attention whores on the face of the Earth, Kanye West and Kim Kardashian, was monumental for exposing just how superficial and tacky pop culture could truly be. I have yet to figure out exactly why anyone pays any attention to Kim Kardashian and Kanye West has not produced any music worth listening to since Graduation in 2007. And the onslaught on the public consciousness shows no signs of abating with the news that these two have created a future attention whore that is due to be delivered sometime in 2013. And that mashed up couple’s name everyone is calling them is moronic.

Superhero Movies Continued to Rule At the Box-Office
It seems like every year that naysaying prognosticators predict that the public’s love for movies about superheroes will fall out of favor and every year those bootleg Nostradamus’s are proven wrong. In 2012, three of the top ten grossing movies of the year were about superheroes (The Avengers, The Dark Knight Rises, and Amazing Spiderman) with The Avengers and The Dark Knight Rises hitting the $1 billion mark. And the future looks just as bright with the upcoming third Iron Man movie and the Man of Steel poised to have big showings at the box office too.

My 5 Unpopular Star Trek Opinions

Any fan of Star Trek worth his or her gold-pressed latinum holds the same opinion on certain facets of the Trek franchise: Kirk is a big ol’ pimp; Wrath of Khan is the best of the movies; The Best of Both Worlds is the best of the TNG TV show; Janeway’s hair bun was a miracle of modern science; Wesley Crusher was an abomination and Bearded Riker was way better than Clean Shaven Riker. But we all also have less than popular opinions that put us at odds with the rest of the fandom. So sit back, set phasers to stun and engage your way past the jump to see my unpopular Star Trek opinions.

Wishful Casting: The Female Expendables Movie

With the announcement that there will be an all female Expendables-type film made many a movie fan began doing their own wishful casting. Most of the suggestions were along the same lines as the original Expendables casting and seemed to focus on seasoned action starlets like Sigourney Weaver, Linda Hamilton and Pam Grier. A curveball was thrown to aspiring casting directors everywhere when Gina Carano and Katee Sackhoff were announced as the first actresses to be signed for the film. So using those two ladies being selected as my inspiration of where I think this film is going casting-wise I came up with my own list.

The Worst Examples of Cousin Oliver Syndrome in TV Sitcom History

Cousin Oliver Syndrome is the well worn TV sitcom trope of introducing a younger character to the cast of a show in it’s later years as a desperate attempt to add life to a show that had grown a bit long in the tooth. This addition can be successful (like with the addition of Olivia to THE COSBY SHOW) or it can be disastrous like the list that I have put together after the jump. This sitcom trope gets it name from the character introduced in the last season of THE BRADY BUNCH. Cousin Oliver was a horrid addition to the show and never contributed anything of value, instead serving to drive a dagger into the heart of a show that was already on life support. Don’t believe me? Click onward and take a look for yourself.
