A Few Of My Favorite Slasher Movie Death Scenes

I tend to watch a lot of horror movies and sometimes have little horror movie marathons on days when I am bored and needing some scares. It is while perusing through some of the horror movies I have seen already that I noticed a lot of them contained character death scenes that stood out to me for reasons as varied as being humorous, over the top or just really brutally effective. And then I decided to share a few of them with the rest of the world.

My Favorite Modern Horror Movie Scream Queens

Ah, Scream Queens…every horror fan has a special place in their heart for these lovely ladies with their voluminous lung capacity and penchant for running across homicidal maniacs. Everyone knows the classic Scream Queens like Janet Leigh and her daughter Jamie Lee Curtis and then there are some of the lesser known but no less beloved Scream Queens like the 1980s fan favorites Linnea Quigley and Barbara Crampton. But who are the current crop of Scream Queens? Who are the ladies that are spending all of their movie screen time running for their lives from folks that are trying to kill them? Well I am glad you asked because I have a list of a few of my favorites after the cut.

So I Finally Got Around To Watching Z Nation

Z NATION, The new zombie drama from the folks at The Asylum (the minds behind the SHARKNADO franchise) that airs on SyFy premiered last Friday but I completely forgot about it. Since I love all things zombie and will give any zombie related program a shot, I watched the pilot episode and while it is no THE WALKING DEAD it does have its charms so I will give it a few more watches before making a final decision. There were a couple of things that really stood out to me about that first episode though.

Cancellation Watch: Which New Fall TV Shows Will Be The First To Go?

cancelled-tv
Every fall the TV networks debut a slew of new shows with high hopes for their success and every fall some of those shows die almost immediate deaths (last season the first to go was CBS’s MADE IN JERSEY) . So which of this fall’s crop of new shows will be the first ones to meet the executioner?

Which Comic Book Characters Should These A-List Stars Be Cast As?

cma00
In recent interviewers, big time Hollywood stars Al Pacino, Denzel Washington, Jessica Chastain and Benedict Cumberbatch were all asked about being cast in a big screen comic book movie (with Cumberbatch actually being rumored to have a role in the upcoming BATMAN V SUPERMAN movie) so I began to wonder just which characters these stars would be perfect to play on the big screen.

2014 Emmy Predictions & Ruminations

emmys
Monday brings us the second biggest awards show of the year when the 66th Primetime Emmys airs. And the biggest question I have is why is it airing on Monday? Isn’t Sunday the usual night for the Emmys? This stalwart awards show couldn’t possibly be running scared from the MTV Awards which is set to air on this Sunday could it? That would be a bigger flinch than SUPERMAN v BATMAN moving to a new date to avoid the third Captain America movie. Oh well, whatever the case it comes on Monday and is I have predictions and ruminations to share as the title of this post so clearly states.

Doctor Who Needs More Time Lords

Actually the show needs more evil Time Lords to be exact. And I am not talking about an old mainstay evil Time Lord like The Master either. I like The Master and his arcs on nuWho have been really fun but it is time for some of the criminally ignored, old school evil Time Lords to get their moments in the sun on nuWho.

My Name is Derek And I Am A Hate-Watcher

Admitting one has a problem is the first step to getting better, right? Anyway hate-watching is different from watching a show you hate because there is a part of you that wants to like the show despite all of its flaws. Hate-watching is also not like guilty pleasure watching because a guilty pleasure TV show is one that you love but are just ashamed to admit to enjoying. Nope, hate-watching is in its own special category and is horribly addictive.

Top 5 Friday the 13th Final Girls

If there is one thing Jason Voorhees loves almost more than killing everyone he meets is the ladies. The proof is in the pudding, folks! Jason loves to spend as much time as possible with members of the fairer sex. Sure he gets all stabby and hacky with them but no one is perfect. With that in mind I have put together this list of the best Final Girls to ever come up against Jason and live to tell the tale.

The Best Looking New Fall TV Shows

Not too long ago I did a post on the Worst Looking New Fall TV Shows and not wanting to seem like a Negative Ned I figured I should do one on the best new shows that the networks have to offer this upcoming TV season. I made separate posts about comic book based shows like THE FLASH and CONSTANTINE because I am a bit of a nerd but the rest of the best can be found one click away.
