The 3 Game of Thrones Character That I Wish Had Already Shown Up On The TV Show

I am a huge GAME OF THRONES fan and this current season is shaping up to be my favorite especially if things occur before the end of the season that I expect to occur. However, my love of the show hasn’t stopped me from wondering why certain characters from the books have not appeared on the show yet. I get that George R.R. Martin’s books are massive and filled with legions of characters so the TV show has been creative in merging characters or eliminating characters entirely and giving their storylines to others (its looking like Willas Tyrell’s place will be taken by his brother Loras). That being said I feel that there are three characters we should have met already on the show just because they are impact players who need (and deserve) to be fleshed out a bit more before being plunged into the middle of already established characters and stories. So click onward brave soldiers and be prepared for spoilers aplenty.

Four Actresses That Would Make A Better Storm Than Halle Berry

There are very few things that comic book fans can agree on when discussing movie adaptations of their favorite books: THE DARK KNIGHT was dang near perfect, DAREDEVIL was a bit of a train wreck and Halle Berry as Storm in the X-MEN movies was just awful. So upon seeing the photo of Berry in full Storm costuming, that returning X-MEN director Bryan Singer tweeted just fills me with dread. With the changes that were made to the established cinematic continuity by the last X-MEN movie my hopes were up that the opportunity would be taken to rectify the dismal casting decision of hiring Berry to play Storm but alas it was not to be. That won’t stop me, however, from doing my own wishful casting of actresses that would be much better in the role than Halle Berry though.

Casting A Female Doctor Who

I recently watched a video of BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER/BATTLESTAR GALACTICA/TORCHWOOD writer Jane Espenson where she discussed the women of DOCTOR WHO and the conversation turned to the subject of a female Doctor (with Espenson suggesting that ANGEL alum Amy Ackerson would be a perfect casting choice) and it inspired me to do my own bit of wishful casting. From the moment I first read about JJ Abrams snagging the director’s gig for the STAR WARS franchise, I immediately started thinking about what a Abrams style reboot of George Lucas’ universe would be like. Then I started thinking about who would get cast for the iconic roles. And then I started thinking that everyone with a blog on the Internet was probably thinking the same thing. So I started thinking about what a rebooted STAR WARS cast would look like if all of the characters were being portrayed by veterans of Abrams’ Bad Robot produced TV series.

The union of two of the biggest attention whores on the face of the Earth, Kanye West and Kim Kardashian, was monumental for exposing just how superficial and tacky pop culture could truly be. I have yet to figure out exactly why anyone pays any attention to Kim Kardashian and Kanye West has not produced any music worth listening to since Graduation in 2007. And the onslaught on the public consciousness shows no signs of abating with the news that these two have created a future attention whore that is due to be delivered sometime in 2013. And that mashed up couple’s name everyone is calling them is moronic.

Superhero Movies Continued to Rule At the Box-Office
It seems like every year that naysaying prognosticators predict that the public’s love for movies about superheroes will fall out of favor and every year those bootleg Nostradamus’s are proven wrong. In 2012, three of the top ten grossing movies of the year were about superheroes (The Avengers, The Dark Knight Rises, and Amazing Spiderman) with The Avengers and The Dark Knight Rises hitting the $1 billion mark. And the future looks just as bright with the upcoming third Iron Man movie and the Man of Steel poised to have big showings at the box office too.
