As a devoted GAME OF THRONES fan I am just all aflutter with anticipation for the new season to start this weekend so I have spent the past week searching all over the Internet for any and all GoT related shenanigans. And then I landed on the Vulture site and the “Game of Thrones” Random Death Generator. So I immediately started thinking of all the cool ways to die if I were a GoT character…beheaded by The Mountain, burned to a crisp by Dany’s dragons, maybe even have my throat ripped out by Khal Drogo! As long as I didn”t die by the hands of that dipshit Joffrey I would be cool with whatever the generator gave me. And then I actually got my results.

With the news of the VERONICA MARS movie Kickstarter meeting its proposed budget ($3.5 million so far!) in record time resulting in the filming of the movie being set up for this summer, I started wondering what has the cast of this show been up to since the last time we saw them in Neptune? Aside from hanging out with show creator Rob Thomas at Kristen Bell’s house that is.
Those wacky Russians have come up with a show called Hip Show that features teams of two MMA fighters doing combat on an American Gladiator-esque obstacle course. It is beyond awesome.

OK, right off the bat I want to get out of the way how much I really like this show and the comic book it originated from. Sure it aggravates me at times but overall I am fan of the show and never miss an episode. That does not mean that I am slavishly devoted to it however. when I see things that irk me I tend to whine about them which is what this post is about. Specifically my issue is with the way two of my favorite characters from the comic book (that I was clamoring to see on the show) , Tyreese and Michonne, are being represented on the TV show.

I am a huge fan of The Boondocks cartoon that airs on Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim about every 15 years (where the heck is the new season, guys?) and I have always had a sneaking suspicion that creator Aaron McGruder would try and get his characters into a feature length film but I never thought that the first character to make the jump would be the self-hating racist Uncle Ruckus. And I definitely didn’t think it would be in a live action movie. McGruder has a Kickstarter in place to try and get funding for the film and has a sort of trailer featuring Gary Anthony Williams (who voices Ruckus on the TV show) in full Uncle Ruckus regalia. Be warned though…if you are easily offended then this is not the stuff for you.

From the moment I first read about JJ Abrams snagging the director’s gig for the STAR WARS franchise, I immediately started thinking about what a Abrams style reboot of George Lucas’ universe would be like. Then I started thinking about who would get cast for the iconic roles. And then I started thinking that everyone with a blog on the Internet was probably thinking the same thing. So I started thinking about what a rebooted STAR WARS cast would look like if all of the characters were being portrayed by veterans of Abrams’ Bad Robot produced TV series.
And that is how we got to this point in the space time continuum, folks.
