As a diehard comic book fan I am completely hooked on The CW’s ARROW Tv show that follows the adventures of DC Comic’s Green Arrow in live-action form. The show could have very easily devolved into a soapy SMALLVILLE style mess but somehow the folks behind ARROW managed to walk the perfect tightrope of super-hero action goodness with CW style melodrama to create the best comic book based series on TV (take that AGENTS OF SHIELD!). There is a rumor floating around that Warner brothers has opened up the casting call for Lex Luthor in the Batman vs Superman/Man of Steel sequel movie to include black actors. This would be a huge casting move, though not unprecedented in the annals of comic book movies with characters like Nick fury and The Kingpin being changed from white to black in the transfer from page to screen. Those characters are not as iconic as Lex Luthor though. The casting of a black actor in the role would be huge and cause all sorts of attention for a film that is already hitting massive levels of media attention with every rumor and scrap of news that comes out.
So with the idea of black actors being bandied about for the role I decided to put together my list of four actors that could play a pretty spiffy Lex Luthor.

Joss Whedon’s new show set in the Marvel cinematic universe has been steadily trending downwards in the rating since its monster debut. I enjoyed some aspects of the show and as an admitted comic book geek, really want the show to succeed. However the issue that has been nearly universally mentioned by detractors and fans alike is that the characters on this show are pretty awful. This lack of a full cast of characters that immediately grabs the audience is proving detrimental to the show and makes sitting through an hour of it each week much more of a chore than it really needs to be. This brings me to the title of this post and the solution to the problems that are ailing viewers of this show. Joss Whedon has shown no hesitation in killing characters that he has done a marvelous job making audiences care about. Don’t believe me? Do the names Wash, Doyle, Jenny Calendar, Book, Cordelia, and Joyce Summers ring a bell? All were characters that were far more fully formed and beloved by the fans than anyone on Agents of SHIELD not named Phil Coulson and in most cases their deaths provided tons of material for future storylines. So if Whedon can kill off characters that people like to make a show better he should have no trouble popping a couple caps in the collective asses of some of the less than compelling characters on Agents of SHIELD. And with ratings dropping every week I thought it would be a good idea to begin preparing for the inevitable by taking a look at which member of Agent Coulson’s SHIELD team is most likely to bite the bullet first.

So Warner brothers has announced that actor/director/screenwriter/husband of Jennifer Garner/BFF of Matt Damon, Ben Affleck has been cast as the new Batman who will be facing off with Superman in the upcoming MAN OF STEEL sequel. And like any other announcement steeped in geekiness, it has caused the collective Internets to shit themselves in fits of over-exaggerated apoplexy. Twitter is on fire, the message boards are exploding, Facebook is melting, petitions are being started (with over 20, 000 signatures…nerds I am so ashamed of you!), all due to Mr. Affleck being named as the new Dark Knight.
Well I will give four reasons why Affleck’s casting is not the worst thing since GIGLI was foisted upon an unsuspecting populace.

On this day in 1971, Corey Scott Feldman was born and in his 42 years of life Mr. Feldman has contributed many things to society not the least of which is his wonderful music. So join me in wishing a happy birthday to this talented fella by taking a walk down memory lane at the things in his career that really stand out to me.
Vin Diesel (an admitted big comics fan) admitted a few weeks ago that Marvel requested a meeting with him but didn’t offer any more info as to just what that meeting was about. Of course minds began racing about which Marvel movie franchise would the star of THE FAST & THE FURIOUS films be involved in with everything from the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy to Black panther being tossed out there by speculative fans and reporters.
Then Diesel posted the above image along with this message on his Facebook page:
