Krampus Is Coming To Town

Krampus is a beast-like creature from the folklore of Alpine countries thought to punish children during the Christmas season who had misbehaved, in contrast with Saint Nicholas, who rewards well-behaved ones with gifts. Krampus is said to capture particularly naughty children in his sack and carry them away to his lair.
Man the Germans really are a stern people.
Santa Claus may get all the good press but I think it’s past time we started showing some love to Krampus because sometimes the threat of a lump of coal is not enough to keep kids in line and you need the threat of a demon from hell with a penchant for corporal punishment to do the job.

This May Be The Least Action-y Action Figure Ever

Some guy is selling the custom made Star Wars action figure that all the Lucasphiles have been clamoring for since 1977: “The Force”! What exactly are ya supposed to do with “The Force” anyway? It has zero points of articulation and nary a king-fu grip in sight.

Hellraiser Reboot Concept Art and Trailer

Two designers got together to create concept art and a trailer to aid in their pitch for a reboot of the HELLRAISER franchise and after looking at what they came up with I am convinced that somebody needs to give them some money to get this reboot started. Their little trailer looked better than every one of the (progressively more terrible) studio backed HELLRAISER sequels that have been released over the years and their designs are pretty gross and cool. the only nitpick I have is that their Pinhead doesn’t have nearly as many pins in his head as I think he should have.
Take a look after the jump and then visit the Hellraiser: Origins site to see more.

Sherlock Noonien Smaug Recites R Kelly Lyrics

I for one am overjoyed to see that Benedict Cumberbatch has decided to pick up the mantle of Star Trek affiliated actors who give dramatic readings of song lyrics. William Shatner isn’t going to be around forever no matter how much we want him to be immortal. So kudos, Mr. Cumberbatch for volunteering to carry on a fine tradition.

Will The Man of Steel Sequel Have a Black Lex Luthor?

There is a rumor floating around that Warner brothers has opened up the casting call for Lex Luthor in the Batman vs Superman/Man of Steel sequel movie to include black actors. This would be a huge casting move, though not unprecedented in the annals of comic book movies with characters like Nick fury and The Kingpin being changed from white to black in the transfer from page to screen. Those characters are not as iconic as Lex Luthor though. The casting of a black actor in the role would be huge and cause all sorts of attention for a film that is already hitting massive levels of media attention with every rumor and scrap of news that comes out.
So with the idea of black actors being bandied about for the role I decided to put together my list of four actors that could play a pretty spiffy Lex Luthor.
