The Justice League Movie Needs More Women…ASAP!

While I am over the moon with excitement for the JUSTICE LEAGUE movie (especially after the clip shown at this year’s San Diego Comicon), I did notice while looking at the team pic that WB released that the League is basically a sausage party with Wonder Woman as the lone female presence on the team. And that is something that really needs to be rectified as quickly as possible which shouldn’t be hard since DC Comics has some really cool women heroes to choose from (as the image above, wonderfully drawn by Peter Nguyen certainly proves).

Holy Crap! Marvel Has Killed The Hostess Spokesman Spider-Man

Mmmmmm Twinkies
Mmmmmm Twinkies

If you are a comic book reader of a certain age then you have fond memories of the ads for Hostess snacks that used to appear in the comics of the day. Super-heroes would face off against all manner of villains and defeat them by using the sugary goodness of a Twinkie, Ho Ho or fruit pie. All the heroes got in on the act but the most prolific were Batman and Spider-Man. So it was a sad day indeed when I read that Hostess Spidey was going to get deaded as part of this “Spider-Verse” currently crossover running through the Spider-Man books.

Wishful Casting The Supergirl TV Show

Having been given a full series commitment from CBS, the new SUPERGIRL TV show is now moving onto the casting stage with the announcements of the primary cast members that will be featured on the show. Since this is coming from the same folks that have given us the wonderful ARROW and FLASH shows over on The CW, I am very optimistic about the quality of this series even if I am a bit confused about why it is going to air on CBS instead of The CW. So taking the character casting sheets that have been released I have decided to do my own bit of wishful casting for the show using only veterans of shows that aired on The CW. Because if there is one thing they love at The CW/CBS it’s recycling actors.
