It’s Scenes Like This That Make Me Forget One Woman Plays All Of These Parts

ob-clones
In the season finale of ORPHAN BLACK there was a veritable clone dance party that featured Tatiana Maslany, as four of the six different characters she has played this season, dancing in such distinct ways that it was really easy to accept that these were all different women played by different actresses.

Game of Thrones Season 4 Scene of the Week: Not Tywin…Anyone But Tywin

tywin_lannister
The fourth season finale of GAME OF THRONES had a ton of amazing moments from Harryhausen-esque animated skeletons to Stannis riding to the rescue beyond The Wall to the epic battle between The Hound and Brienne…it was just an incredible episode of television. But nothing stood out more to me than the scene(s) where Tyrion exacted his revenge upon two of those who have wronged him the most gravely.

Game of Thrones Season 4 Scene of the Week: Giants on Mammoths!!!!!

Oliver "Olly" Queen?
Oliver “Olly” Queen?

There really isn’t much to explain about “Watchers On The Wall” except to say it was a big ass episode long battle reminiscent of the “Blackwater” episode from Season Two. And with that in mind I figured the best way to recap this ep was visually.

I made separate posts about comic book based shows like THE FLASH and CONSTANTINE because I am a bit of a nerd but the rest of the best can be found one click away.

Game of Thrones Season 4 Scene of the Week: The Rise of Darth Sansa

darth-sansa1
Y’know…if two weeks ago someone would have told me that my favorite scene of this episode of GAME OF THRONES would end up being anything but the fight between Oberyn and The Mountain I would have called them a filthy liar who lies. But surprisingly, there was something else that grabbed my attention even more than that clash of the titans. Sansa Stark’s finally beginning to play the game of thrones.

The Worst Looking New Fall TV Shows

worst-new-fall-tv-shows
Last month the TV networks debuted their new offerings for the fall season and while some shows look very promising like The Flash, Constantine, Grace Point (the US adaptation of Broadchurch) and The Whispers; other shows look downright abysmal. So with that in mind I have picked the worst of the bunch as a public service to help innocent TV viewers avoid the awful.

My Picks For The 3 Lead Roles In True Detective Season 2

true-detective
We have recently been getting more details about the second season of HBO’s TRUE DETECTIVES like the casting rumors (Jessica Chastain is in! No she’s not! Brad Pitt has been signed! No he hasn’t! Christian Bale turns down lead role!) and word from the show’s creator of the cast make-up:

Unofficial breakdowns floated around have listed the three leads as a fortysomething male detective/cop with Joaquin Phoenix, Christian Bale and Josh Brolin as prototypes, a twentysomething male cop and a thirtysomething female detective, with Jessica Chastain as a potential prototype.

So with that main cast breakdown in mind I decided to do a little wishful casting and put together my dream team of actors for TRUE DETECTIVE Season 2.

Michiel Huisman Is Determined To Ruin TV For Me

Have you ever been watching a TV show that you really liked yet there was just one character that you really hated with a passion played by an actor who just annoyed you completely and you wished he were not a part of the show? Well imagine if that actor were to bring the same acting style you absolutely loathe to show after show that you enjoy? Would you feel like there was a conspiracy going on to ruin TV for you specifically? Well, if so you would be a paranoid nutcase but never let it be said that I considered myself to be 100% sane because I think Michiel Huisman is out to destroy my enjoyment of TV by constantly popping up on shows I like.

Game of Thrones Season 4 Scene of the Week: Fly Lysa Fly

mockingbird05
A good deal of stuff went down on this episode of GoT, titled “Mockingbird”, not the least of which is Arya adding to her body count while bonding with The Hound; The return of Hot Pie who helps point Brienne and Podrick in the right direction for finding the Stark sisters; The Mountain being awful; Dany bumping uglies with the flea market version of Daario; and Tyrion losing hope of having a champion for his trial by combat then getting a new champion in the form of Oberyn. But the scene that stood out the most to me happened at The Vale and featured the man whose personal sigil was the title of this episode: Petyr “Littlefinger” Baelish.
